SHARE THE GOSPEL IN WORD AND DEED

Participating in God’s mission is central to the life of the Emerald City Bible Fellowship congregation. Outreach at ECBF focuses on a wholistic Christ-centered approach to being deeply involved in our surrounding community and beyond. Our ministry and outreach philosophy is based on the 8 Principles of Christian Community Development.

how we serve

"We see poverty not just as material, it has social and spiritual implications as well. The ECBF outreach ministry is built on the principles of Christian Community Development. Its about establishing a presence in the neighborhood we serve in, looking for the needs in our neighborhood, and connecting those needs with the assets and resources of the neighborhood and the church".

Steve Bury, ECBF Member and Director of Urban Impact

"The work we do here in the Rainier Beach community is significant because of the youth and families we serve. We run into these stories that have very tough narratives, how kids live their day to day, dealing with gun violence in the neighborhood, poverty, not having the same access as other districts as far as education is concerned. So our role in the community is very essential because we try to bridge those gaps and close those cycles in a lot of ways".

Mike Davis, ECBF congregant and Director of CULTURED Ministries

    UI@ECBF |  COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Urban Impact is the non-profit community development arm of Emerald City Bible Fellowship. Together we partner with people and communities to break the cycle of social, spiritual and material poverty.  We envision a world where all people are reconciled to God and where everyone is engaged and thriving in community.

    Emerald City Commons

Emerald City Commons (ECC) was completed in 2013 in collaboration with Mercy Housing and Urban Impact. Located on the Emerald City Bible Fellowship property, Emerald City Commons is a 61-unit, mixed-use affordable housing development with 6,000 square feet of commercial space serving working families in the Rainier Valley. The facility includes a 5,700 square foot commercial space on the lower level which homes an accessible and high quality fitness center, Rainier Health & Fitness

    Volunteer Opportunities

Urban Impact runs a Homework Club and Summer Enrichment Camp for the children of ECC.

We are always looking for more tutors (Mon-Thurs, 3-5pm) and donations of snacks.  You can find more information about volunteering HERE
